Candace Waters

Artist Statement:

Our beautiful redheaded daughter Candace, aka Candy, is 13 years old and has severe autism. Candy is non-verbal but she is an amazing painter. Even though Candy is non-verbal and unable to communicate through words she is able to express herself through her art and speak loudly. Candy's art and story has inspired, raised autism awareness and given hope to people around the world. Prints of Candy's paintings are being sold through "Kind Tree-Autism Rocks Foundation". The way Candy gives back to the autism community is half of all proceeds from the sales of her prints are going to help others on the autism spectrum to fulfill their dreams of becoming artists.

Candy's "Ray of Hope" painting will hang in the newly constructed Dan Marino Foundation's "The Marino Campus" located in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ribbon cutting date will be in the Fall. A media release recognizing Candy and her artwork will be part of the opening. Candy's bio will hang with the painting and Dan Marino will pose with Candy's painting. We appreciate this honor so much. Thank You Dan Marino!

Candy's artwork has been published in numerous magazines/articles including the Chicago Tribune, UC Irvine, Something Special, Autism Parenting, Bugle, Apostrophe and Age of Autism.
